Who cares what everyone else is doing?
Steve Jobs never cared WTF anyone else was doing. He wanted better. Period. Elon Musk is not interested in the past, nor the present. He is interested in the future. What COULD the world be like are the questions these two icons ask themselves.
What about you? Are you caught up in what your competitors are doing? Following trends in the industry only to find out you are behind the 8-ball? STOP. Start paving your own path with your own feet, your own shovel, your own bulldozer, whatever. Look within and GET original.
If I could change one thing about my business tactics historically, it would be this. I truly believe I would have been more successful, more efficient and had a much more innovative and passionate team. I preach to you, with all my heart, do what YOU feel is the right thing for your product, your business and your audience.
It does not matter what others say or think. There are over seven billion people in the world. I am sure a few will like what you are doing. In the world we live in today, with the internet and social media, a few is all you need to stake your claim. Good luck out there.
